DNA Facts - Did you know?
In 2013, the Hornsleth Deep Storage Project dropped a large iron sculpture into the depths of Marianas Trench. This sculpture contains samples of human blood, hair, and animal DNA. It is an attempt to preserve DNA samples that could be deployed to bring endangered species and the human race back to life in the future.
Haemophilia is recessive disease connected to the X chromosome.
Women have two X chromosomes. That is why only females with the recessive gene in both X chromosomes actually develop Haemophilia. If they carry only a single recessive gene then they become carriers (transmitters) of the disease.
In the case of men, it's different.Men have only one X chromosome and if they carry the recessive gene they will also develop the disease.
The Jewish population were well aware of this fact, and did not circumcise sons of women known to be carriers.
